The 2006 projections were the last ones published on the Duke Basketball Report. Since their archives no longer exist, I've re-created the files. I've started with the Saturday, February 25, when there was a single Sunday game to be played. That left twelve ACC games left on the schedule.
Even with a week to play, Duke had already won the ACC regular season and top seed in the ACC Tournament. Wake Forest was closing in on the 12th seed. Early on, the top four had separated from the pack; this is significant, in that the top four teams get a bye, and only need to win three games to win the ACC Championship. Seeds 5-12 need to play on Thursday, and win four games.
As a result, there's not quite as much intrigue in the race in 2006 as in other years; it is all about the possible pairings in the ACC Tournament, as the byes are decided early.
